While Sammy attended Summer School at UNC Chapel Hill, in the early 1970's, he sublet a bedroom and bath in our apartment at Kings Arms Apartments. He wrote a letter to Ezra Pound, who lived in Italy at that time. The clerk at the USPS, refused to accept Sammy's letter addressed to "Ezra Pound, Somewhere in Italy, telling Sammy "There might be a thousand Ezra Pounds in Italy.". For many years whenever I saw Sammy, our greeting was always with a hearty laugh, "There might be a thousand Ezra Pounds in Italy. Colleen, i'm so sorry for your loss. I hope this memory gives you and your family some comfort in this difficult time. Sammy's great.
