Steve Hardt, the youngest child of Theresa McNabb Hardt Moore, who was Marian first cousin wrote this testimony. The McNabb girls (Lovie and Theresa) grew up in the Cradock section of Portsmouth, Virginia and their mother, Loza Midgett McNabb stayed in contact with her siblings including her sister, Hazel Midgett Early. Their families would visit each throughout the years and this continued with my mom’s and Marian’s families. I have fond memories of the times we spent together and would like to express some of my beliefs. For Christians, death is a time of countless emotions. Many of these emotions are associated to love. Because of God’s love for us, we are graced with everlasting life. Because of our love for Marian, we mourn the loss of a woman that touched our lives in special and unique ways. Hopefully, we can look back lovingly at Marian’s life here on earth and rejoice about her new life in Heaven. From my own experiences with the death of a love one, I realize their spirit remains with me. I have no doubt Marian’s spirit will remain with us as we continue through this journey called life. I pray that you find comfort during this time and that you and your love ones continue to make and share countless memories together. May her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

I’m so sorry for your recent loss. My deepest condolences to your family. Death of a loved one is never easy to endure, but you don’t have to go through it alone. Continue looking to God and you will always find comfort in him (2 Cor 1:3,4). He will soon destroy the enemy of death (1 Cor 15:26), and He will soon return our loved ones to us through the resurrection (John 5:28,29). Please visit JW.org and search “When Someone You Love Dies”, it helped me through some difficult times and I hope you can find comfort in it also.

Jennifer, was sorry to hear about your mother. The few times I visited your home in Ahoskie when we were growing up your mother always made me feel welcome. I remember the party at your home when we were in the eight grade, your mother made sure everyone was having a great time. Her kindness is one reason I remember that special time. Take care Jennifer please let God guide you through this difficult time. tg
