Dearest Stephanie, Chris, Liam and Hartleigh, Queen Elizabeth said this at Princess Diana’s funeral and I have always remembered it – “Grief is the price we pay for love.” Your grandmother, Nellie Joyner Barnes, was loved by her many friends and family members. She deserves grief. Warmest condolences to you and your sweet family. I love you, Aunt Helen

Dearest Shirley, You have lost your greatest fan. Nellie Joyner Barnes. There are no words I could ever utter to express how sad I am for you due to the your loss of your mother. An old Jewish proverb says “God could not be everywhere, and therefore he made mothers.” You and Miss Nellie shared many hours as a mother-daughter team. Your memories will be cherished. Sincerest of sympathy for you and “John”. And all of God’s children said “Amen”. “Sis” Helen
