Chief Shagoiewatha will certainly be missed by all of his friends with The Virginia Peanut Festival. Every September his nation was an integral part of the festivities held in Emporia honoring agriculture, heritage, and history. He was proud of his tribe and was an excellent ambassador, educating thousands that attended every year regarding the Meherrin Nation. Our deepest condolences go out to his family and loved ones.
