Mr. Willie Carroll Edwards, age 90 died on Wednesday, October 21, 2009. Carroll was a native of Northampton County and a member of Rich Square Baptist Church. Carroll served his country in the United States Army during World War II. Carroll was a lover of the land and he spent his entire life farming.
Preceding him in death is his mother, Lillie Parker Edwards, his father, James Lokie Edwards, his first wife Helen Tant Edwards, a son Tommie Darryl Edwards and a brother Julian Edwards.
Survivors include his wife, Edith Rodgers Edwards of the home, two sons, Ellis C. Edwards and his wife Bobbie, Barry M. Edwards and wife Georgene Scott, both of Raleigh, North Carolina, one sister Ella Vann Stevenson of Virginia Beach, Virginia and two grandchildren, Angela Barts of Apex, North Carolina and Jonathan Edwards of Raleigh, North Carolina and one great grandchild, Kaley Barts of Apex, North Carolina.

The interment follow the service at Cedar Lawn Cemetery in Rich Square. The Rev. Bob Rogers will be officiating the service.

Barry, Gene, and Jonathan, I am so sorry for your loss. I know you are going through some challenges trying to cope with the loss of your father and grandfather. Mike and I are keeping you all in our thoughts and prayers. Just remember the love and keep your memories close to your hearts.
