AHOSKIE, NC – William Thomas “Billy” Wickens, age 40, of Church Road, passed away on Friday, January 14, 2022 at the Vidant Roanoke Chowan Hospital in Ahoskie, NC surrounded by family, his brother and two sisters.
Billy was born on April 27, 1981 to the late Therolon E. Wickens, Sr. and Aida Duarte Wickens in Panama City, Panama. He was a joy to be around and was always the life of the party. He enjoyed people, never met a stranger, and could make friends everywhere he went. Billy loved his family and the time he got to spend with them. He liked to do new things, enjoyed his toy cars, playing cards, dancing, and his most cherished love was for music. He would listen to music for hours and loved it greatly. Billy was a treasure to his family and friends and will be deeply missed.
Billy is survived by his three sisters, Iris Arrington of Atlanta, GA, Kathy Farmer and husband Bruce of Ahoskie, and Dayana Quidley and husband David of Buxton, NC; three brothers, Therlon E. Wickens, Jr. of Ahoskie, Jerry Wickens and wife Samantha of Juan Dias, Panama; and Hank Wickens and wife Ruth of Texas, several nieces and nephews, Vanessa, Antonio, Hugh, Jr., Martina, Kayla, Phyllis, Carmin, Allie, Felicity, Mason, Nigel, and Margorie. Also surviving are many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A celebration of life graveside service will be held on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at 10:00 am at the Riverside-Magnolia Cemetery, Norfolk, VA, with Gattis Hodges officiating.
