AHOSKIE, NC – William Dickey Davidson, age 81, passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at the Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, NC.
Mr. Davidson was born on September 28, 1938 to the late Charlie Woodrow Davidson and Viola Felton Davidson in Colerain, NC. William served his country proudly in the United States Army. He was a salesman
for 50 years, meeting new friends daily. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, and cherished his family. William was a devoted past member of New Hope Baptist Church where he served as deacon. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed playing the harmonica in church and nursing homes. William was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all that knew him.
William is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Barbara, two daughters, Kaye D. Lamb and husband Jimmy of Wilmington, NC, and Kimberly Davidson of Ahoskie; son, Kenneth Davidson and wife Phyllis of
Colerain; two grandsons, Morgan Lamb of Wilmington, DE, and Trent Davidson of Colerain; two granddaughters, Tori Lamb of Wilmington, NC, and Emily Lamb of Sea Bring, FL; sister, Phyllis Johnson and
husband Tommy of Colerain; brother, Al Davidson and wife Carol Ann of Roanoke Rapids, NC; and nephews David Vick, Melvin Davidson, and Michael Davidson.
The family will receive friends on Monday, October 14, 2019, from 7:00 pm until 8:30 pm at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, Ahoskie, NC.
A celebration of life graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 15, 2019, at 2:00 pm at the Highland Memorial Gardens, Ahoskie, NC, with Rev Troy Bordeaux and Dr. Lorenza Stox officiating.

Sorry for your loss. Dickie was a special person, who never met a stranger.
Dicky was long time member of American Legion Post 102. He attended regularly until his health prevented him from getting out. We regret the loss of a hero and a great veteran. God bless his family with comfort and peace.
