CONWAY, NC – Vera Ellen Galloway Vann, age 84, of Walter E. Martin Road, passed away on Monday, January 24, 2022 at the PAM Health Specialty Hospital of Rocky Mount, NC

Mrs. Vann was born on October 26, 1937 to Cliff Galloway and Edna Earl Tillery Galloway in Northampton County, North Carolina. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She spent her life taking care of her family. She cherished the 59 years of marriage to her loving husband, David Martin Vann, and every moment spent with her family. Her grandchildren were her prize possessions, and she loved her children deeply. She was a very talented seamstress and enjoyed quilting, making each of her children a quilt. Vera also enjoyed spending time outside and working in her flowers. She was loved greatly by her family and friends and will be deeply missed.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her devoted husband, David Martin Vann, son-in-law, Curtis Larry Knight, sister, Estelle Vann, and brother, Leon Galloway.

Left to cherish Vera’s memory is her two daughters, Vera Vann Ricks and husband Anthony of Conway, and Loretta Vann Clark and husband Mike of Littleton; two sons, David Quinton Vann and wife Diane of Conway, and Danny Duane Vann of Conway; two grandsons, Christopher Scott Vann, and William Michael Clark, Jr.; four granddaughters, Heather Michelle Knight, Lindy Clark Arthur and husband Austin, Dana Vann Benner and husband Ian, and Bailey Vann Leggett and husband Lee; four great-grandsons, Wyatt Knight, Waylon Arthur, Braxton Knight, and Gabe Knight; two great-granddaughters, Harper Benner, and Emerson Arthur; and two sisters, Frances Edwards, and Marie Francis, both of Ahoskie.

A celebration of life graveside service will be held at the Ashley’s Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, with Rev. John Porter officiating.
