Mrs. Urtie Raye Donaldson, age 71 died at the Duke University Medical Center in Durham on Sunday, August 23, 2009. She was a native of Halifax County and made her home in Scotland Neck. Mrs. Donaldson was married to the late Marvin Donaldson in 1957 and they enjoyed twenty-five years of marriage until his death in 1982. She was a member of the Hope Freewill Baptist Church in Scotland Neck and was a devoted volunteer at the Scotland Neck Recreation Center. Also preceding her in death are her mother and father, Margaret Evans Neal and Joseph Gray Neal and her sister, Maxine Neal Green.
Survivors include two daughters, Diane D. Warren and her husband Donald of Hobgood and Mary Jo House and her husband Mike of Scotland Neck. Surviving are four grandchildren; Dee Murphy, Justin Warren, Sierra House and Michael House.

I am so sorry for your loss--you are in my thoughts and prayers. Urtie Raye was such a pleasant person, and my mom thought the world of her. I always enjoyed the times I was able to accompany my mom when she visited with her.
