Stanley Thomas Connie, age 76, of Tarboro, passed away on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at his home in Tarboro.

He was born on March 8, 1945 to the late Oddie Connie and Ellen Whitfield of Edgecombe County. Stanley worked as a mechanic for his entire life and retired from Norris Auto Sales in Tarboro. Stanley’s hobbies included dancing and cooking. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.  To know him was to love him. Stanley was a friend to all and never met a stranger.  He will be deeply missed.

In addition to his parents Stanley was preceded in death by his two sons, Michael Duane Pitt and Gary Earl Pitt; his brother, Larry Anthony Connie; and his grandson, Corey Pitt.

Stanley is survived by his daughter, Janet Connie of Tarboro; his son, Thomas Jeffery Connie and wife Laura of Greenville; his sister, Peggy Connie of Elizabeth City; his brother, David C. Connie of Lexington; six grandsons, Aaron Bradshaw of Denver, CO, Eric Bradshaw of Boone, Dillon Johnson of Raleigh, Jordan Pitt of Raleigh, Blaze Tripp of Spring Hope, and Dean Ayers of Spring Hope; two granddaughters, Jamie Lee and husband Jacob of Elm City and Kayla Connie of Greenville; two great-grandsons, Waylon Johnson of Rocky Mount; and one great-granddaughter.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 26, 2021 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. at Letchworth-Sykes Funeral Service in Scotland Neck.
