LASKER, NC – “Lulu” Sharon Jeannette “Jenny” Bland Barrett, age 61, formerly of Weldon, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family.

Jenny was born on November 22, 1957 to Robert and Carol Louise Harrell Bland in Ahoskie, Hertford County, NC. She lived most of her life in Weldon, NC. Jenny has fought a courageous battle with lung cancer. She is a brave warrior. Jenny loved her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all that knew her.

She was preceded in death by father, Robert Bland, Sr., sister in law, Cheryl Bland, and grandparents; Harvey and Rachel Bland, and Will and Era Harrell.

Left to cherish her memory are her mother, Carol of the home, brother Robert Bland Jr. also of the home; children, Jay Proctor, Jr. and wife Sandi of Tarboro, NC, Deavon Barrett of Seaboard, NC, and Thomas Barrett and fiancé Stephanie Rose of Roanoke Rapids, NC; their father, Gary Barrett and step-mother Wendy Lucy of Seaboard, NC, two sisters; Lisa Bland and friend Mark King of Roanoke Rapids, NC, and Cristal Edmonds and husband Gary of Weldon, NC; grandchildren, Brittany Elmer and husband Anthony of Wilmington, NC, Michael Proctor and E.J. Proctor, both of Tarboro, NC, Kaylee and Elizabeth Harper Barrett, both of Roanoke Rapids, NC, and Jonathan Barrett of Seaboard, NC; two uncles, James Bland and wife Margaret of Kelford, NC and Rueban Harrell and wife Ellen of Hertford, NC; two special cousins; Cathy Outlaw and family and JoAnn Lee and family, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

The family will have a private celebration of life service at a later date!
