Inoted in the Sunday N&O an obituary for SEaton Fairless, Jr. Among the survivors listed were wto daughter; Brenda and Annette. While I was State 4-H Leader I recall two outstanding 4-Her's from Bertie county by those names. In the event you are the two I just wanted to extend my condolences. If this is the family, I recall your mother was a very active 4-H Leader. If I,m correct, please give her my regards and my condolences. I believe both of you were State and national winners and went to Chicago. I would love to hear from the two of you.

Sue,
You and your family are in my prayers. Bertie County and our schools have lost one of their biggest supporters with the passing of Seaton. Through the years, he never lost his passion for doing what was best for our schools. When I worked for the newspaper and went to all the Board of Education meetings, never did I see Seaton vote in any way other than with the students' best interests at heart. He was a man who voted his convictions, even when he knew that he could not win some issues. We need more people like Seaton and he will be missed.

Seaton, I know that where you are, you will see bigger bucks and heard the gobble of the wild turkey everyday. Thanks for what you have done for wildlife, and thanks for being my friend.
Sue and family, our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Just a note to express our concern for you as you face your lives without Mr. Seaton. He was a great man. I will always remember that he was the one who allowed Zach to hunt with Rob on his property to kill his very first deer. Zach and I watched the video today. Our hearts are with you as you grieve the loss of your loved one.

Know that my prayers are with the family during this time of having to experience the loss of a loved one. It was an honor to have worked in the Bertie Schools with Mr. Fairless as a board member and under Mrs. Fairless as one of my supervisors. I will always be indebted to them for the integrity, hard work and love they gave to the staff and students. I wish to Mrs. Fairless and the family the peace of knowing that you are not going to go through this time alone because prayers, friends, family and most of all God is there for you.

I went through 12 years of school at Colerain with Seaton. I will always remember him as the happy, mischievous (but harmless) boy who sat behind me in French class. Seaton had the gift of making people feel at ease, and that he was genuinely interested in what you had to say.
May you find comfort as you share your stories and memories of Seaton, and how very much he meant to all of us.
My prayers are with the family.
Sincerely, Alice White Perry
