AHOSKIE, NC – Robert Lewis Weller, age 89, passed away Thursday, February 14, 2019 at the Gates House, Gatesville, NC.
Mr. Weller was born August 22, 1929 to William and Dorothy Hasenpath Weller in Philadelphia, PA. Robert served in the United States Army and was a firefighter for the City of Norfolk Virginia until his retirement. He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend that will be deeply missed.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Jack Weller.
Robert is survived by two sons, Robert Lewis Weller, Jr. of Virginia Beach, VA, and Michael Weller and wife Mary Lou of Aulander, NC; four grandsons, Christopher Scott Weller of Virginia Beach, VA, Richard “Rick” Weller of Virginia Beach, VA, Craig Thomas Weller and wife Lindsey of Eure, NC, and Brian Michael Weller and wife Ashton of Aulander, NC; granddaughter, Amy Michelle Bawson and husband Jeremy; brother, Earl Charles Weller of Southampton County, VA; 12 great grandchildren; and 6 great great grandchildren.
A celebration of life graveside service with military honors will be held Monday, February 18, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Norfolk, Virginia with Pastor Wade Bennett officiating.

After spending 25 years with my wonderful grandmother, Weller is and always will be a part of our family. We will miss him dearly and cherish the time we spent with him.
