Retha Askew Mizelle age 94 of Colerain died Tuesday May 4, 2010 at Roanoke Chowan Hospital. She was born July 7, 1915 in Bertie County to the late Thellie D. Askew and Mary Harrell Askew. She was the wife of the late Jesse Price Mizelle.
Mrs. Mizelle was a member of Colerain Baptist Church and was a retired bookkeeper and bank teller.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Friday, May 7, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Colerain Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Donald G. Roberts, Jr. will officiate.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter Phoebe B. Strough of Bronson, FL, sons: Hal Askew Byrum of Hertford and Carlton H. Byrum of Bronson, FL, 7 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter Mary B. Enterline.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 PM at Garrett-Jones Funeral Home in Ahoskie.
