Peggy and I go back to 1964 at Greensboro College. We were freshmen and lived across the hall. Peggy was one of the prettiest and sweetest girls at GC and she had a cute football player boyfriend at Guilford College. Life could not have been better than that in 1964!
We got reacquainted when I moved to ElizabethCity in 1992. We laughed together, painted together and visited one another until that dreaded disease took her away.
Peggy will not be forgotten. She left a legacy of beautiful artworks and and a darling family. RIP Peggy. Love you. Carolyn

Ginger, Clint, Sue, and Dick, Joe and I are so grieved to learn of Peggy’s passing. On a very personal note, your mom/sister “saved” me when I first moved to Aulander! She was my very best friend! And Jack is the reason Joe and I met at Guilford as he convinced Joe to go there!! What dear friends they both were to us for the 27 years we lived in Bertie after marriage. Peggy was also such an excellent artist. We have several of her paintings in our house in Raleigh. We will both remember Peg so fondly. May you all have peace as you remember her. Love, Joe and Lloyd Spruill
