The highlight of his day was fellowshipping with the breakfast crew, the members always enjoy the time they got to spend together. Skip will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Carroll Askew.

Skip is survived by his wife, Linda of the home, two sons, Kevin “Mutt” Askew and wife Donna of Aulander, and John “Jay” Askew and wife Tammy of Ahoskie; two grandsons, Brandon Askew and wife Sarah of Ahoskie, and Joshua Askew of Windsor; one granddaughter, Krislyn Askew of Ahoskie; one great-grandson, Weston Johns of Ahoskie; two great-granddaughters, Lillian Grace Askew, and Olivia Paige Askew; two sisters, Linda Hall and husband John of Sanford, and Peggy White of Ahoskie; his beloved dog, Max; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Skip never knew a stranger. When Ronnie and I first went to Higher Ground, he was one of the first ones to welcome us. He had the biggest smile and was so kind to us. He made us feel like we were welcome there. Miss Linda, I’m so sorry. Ronnie and I will be praying for you for the days ahead. Mr Skip will definitely be missed.

To the Askew family so sorry for the loss of your love one. Skipp was a great man who will be greatly missed by all. He worked for me many years at the Hertford County Landfill. He was a great worker and a very caring person.
