Mrs. Nancy Wood McDaniel, age 82, died at Roanoke Chowan Hospital in Ahoskie, North Carolina on Monday, February 16, 2009. Mrs. McDaniel is a native of Scotland Neck, North Carolina. She began her career at Carolina Telephone in Tarboro continuing at Ashford-Harrisons in Scotland Neck, and then she became a bank teller at the Bank of Halifax which later became BB&T in Scotland Neck where she remained until her retirement in 1995. Mrs. McDaniel was a devoted member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Scotland Neck. She was a Sunday school teacher, Vestryman, Choir member, and treasurer for Old Trinity Episcopal Cemetery and the Episcopal Churchwomen. Preceding her in death are her parents, Mary Bryant Wood and E. C. Wood, and her husband, Harry Gunter McDaniel.
Mrs. McDaniel is survived by her two daughters, Martha McDaniel Parker and her husband, Alton of Roxobel, North Carolina, Rebecca McDaniel Brooker and her husband, Stewart of Winterville, North Carolina, and her five grandchildren, Ashley, Anna, and Abby Parker of Roxobel, North Carolina, Elisha and Lydia Brooker of Winterville, North Carolina.

Martha and Rebecca, I was so sorry to learn of the passing of your Mother. Please find comfort that her suffering has ended. From this time forward, you will smile at the pleasant memories as you remember what a fine person she was. You and your families will be in my thoughts and prayers. Betty Jo
