AHOSKIE – Mildred Hughes Castelloe, age 79, of the 300 block of Baker Street, died Saturday, February 05, 2011, at Roanoke Chowan Hospital.

Mrs. Castelloe was born in Bertie County on October 25, 1931, a daughter of the late Zack and Eva White Hughes. She was a member of Ahoskie United Methodist Church and was retired as a data processor from Roanoke Chowan Hospital.

Mildred is survived by her husband, Robert Castelloe, of Plymouth, NC; a step son, Dennis G. Brown of Chicago, IL; a sister, Annie Gray Perry of Colerain; two step granddaughters; four nieces and two nephews. Mrs. Castelloe was predeceased by her first husband, Cecil Clay.

A celebration of life service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 8, 2011, at Garrett-Jones Funeral Home, with the Rev. Lee Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. on Monday, and other times at Mrs. Castelloe‚??s home, 311 Baker St., Ahoskie, NC.
