GATESVILLE, NC – Maurice Earl Farnham, Jr., age 80, formerly of Vermont, passed away on February 8, 2018 at the Gates House in Gatesville, NC.

Mr. Farnham was born on December 8, 1937 to Maurice Earl and Barbara Leavens Farnham in Newport, Vermont. Maurice graduated from The University of Vermont with a bachelor’s degree. He worked in the sawmill until retiring. Maurice and his wife were snow birds and would spend the winters in Zephyrhills, Florida. He loved his family and enjoyed playing music. Maurice will be deeply missed by all that knew him.

Besides his parents, Maurice was preceded in death by his loving wife Martha Farnham, and four brothers, Billy, Michael, Stuart, and Merle Farnham.

Maurice is survived by, two daughters, Diane Williams and husband Steve of Roanoke Rapids, NC, and Susan Farnham of Greensboro, NC; his son, Rick Farnham and wife Brenda of Littleton, NC; seven grandsons, Rami Yousef, Saif and Samir AlSamarraee, Lucas, Lee, Scott, and Jesse Farnham; two granddaughters, Kristen Williams, and Maribeth Farnham; four great granddaughters; Kimberly, Kayley, Kara, and Kennadee; five sisters, JoAnn Shaw, Lois Farnham, Linda Weeden, Patty Friend, and Elizabeth Smith; two brothers, Jimmy, and Bobby Farnham; along with a host of nieces and nephews.

The family will have a celebration of life memorial service for Maurice in Florida at a later time.
