COLERAIN, NC- Mary Hughson Perry, age 90, of Colerain, passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on July 29, 1926 to the late James Herbert and Mary Chamblee Hughson in Bertie County, NC. Mrs. Perry loved being a farmer’s wife to the late Dan Perry, loved being a mother to four sons, was a homemaker known for frying the best chicken ever. She was an avid gardener with a passion for roses and daffodils. Mrs. Perry was a lifetime member of Bethany Baptist Church.
Mary is survived by her four sons, Herbert Wayne Perry of Lafayette, CA, James Michael Perry and his wife, Patsy of Colerain, NC, Danny Lynn Perry and his wife, Jill of Windsor, NC, Flint Wood Perry and wife Kathryn of Colerain, NC; two granddaughters, Courtney and Keating Perry; seven grandsons, Andrew, Thad, Brandon and Justin Perry, Greg Boswell, Seth and Conley Raines; a great-granddaughter, Gracie Boswell; and a sister, Inez Bunch of Edenton, NC.
The family will receive friends anytime at the home.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2017, at 11:00 AM at the Bethany Baptist Church in Perrytown with Rev. Tommy Tripp officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens.
