My relastionship with Mark started when he became the Northside director and continued through his last work as outpatient therapist in the same practice. Mark was always an advocate for those in need. He was always positve and used his imagination and creativity to work around negatives. He had a positive effect on healthcare where ever he was. He will be missed by all. My sympathy to Nancy and the children in this time of loss.

Miss Nancy,Joshua and family; My heart is at the same time empty, and filled with grief. Two years ago after awakening at 3am to find a man in the middle of my bedroom with a large knife, intending to kill me; afterward my life was torn asunder; I couldn't sleep, even with my door locked. Colin, my Dr. for over 35 years referred me to Mark, and I am not ashamed to say that he saved me emotionally, mentally, and physically. After release, he introduced me to Josh, and even brought him over for a visit a couple of times. For the last year, weather permitting, he would walk over once or twice after dinner, and just talk. I was away all of last week having a knee replaced, and this past Sunday night he came over for a visit and to check on my knee. Our friendship had developed to the point that there were no limits on what we shared. My daughter lives in Paris, and I am in the midst of planning her twice annual visit with the grandchildren. Mark even spoke to her several weeks ago when I was on the phone, and she was looking forward to meeting him and his family. We had even briefly discussed inviting you to our place at Emerald Isle. I am not one who calls anyone friend easily; but I want you to know that he was not just "a" friend, he was my "best friend". Last Sunday evening he called and dropped by to check on me and the progress with my knee. He was sorely disturbed about a client of his, an elderly illiterate black man, who had only a few weeks to live, and had missed an appointment with Trent because someone scared him away. Mark asked if he could bring him the next day[this past Monday

Dear Nancy,
We are so sad for your loss. I have had the joy of teaching Josh, Riley and Becca over the years and have become close to you and Mark. He was always smiling and he made all of us feel good. We worked together on the ED project and we were proud of the outcome. Together you both were awesome. I will be here for you and the kids always. Love to you all, Tina

My encounter with Mr. Boyd was very brief when he registered his girls in my Girl Scout troop, but I could see how much he was involved on his children's lives and truly loved them. He was so mild mannered and polite. On behalf of Girl Scout Troop 217, I would like send my condolences to Nancy and her family at this time. May God keep his arms around you all in comfort during this time.

Boyd Family,
I appreciate the time and effort Mr. Boyd had committed to helping make the connection between Hertford County Public schools and the much needed mental health services. He took time out of his busy schedule to work with me as we planned to educate staff to recognize adverse effects of trauma. He had a passion to educate and to help others that were suffering or in pain.
May it comfort you to know that others have you in their thoughts and prayers as you experience the pain and suffering of losing your husband, father, son, brother. . .
Respectfully,
Mae & Mike Rose

He alsways came up with wonderful appraoches and teaching concepts to help indiviuals and groups learn to be more self-suficient and healthy. We at the CEnter of Excellence for Integrated Care will miss him. Our prayers are with your family. God Bless.

I don't really know his family but he was surely proud and loved you all very much. He had been seeing my daughter for a few months now and had made great strides with her. He is and was an amazing man. He was the only person my daughter would open up to and we also feel a great loss. We will be praying for you and your children to have strength thru all this. My daughter has already said she would not talk or go see anyone else because there is no chance they will be half as amazing as Mr. Mark was. Our family will hold in our prayers. Mr. Mark will be missed by so many and we are very blessed to have ever had the opportunity to have met and got to know him.

Nacy, words cannot describe the way we feel with mark's passing. When we went to the church this morning I felt the impact of the reality on how much he has ment to this community. Mark was the perfect example of how we should all treat each other. You and your children were blessed to have a person like him in your lives even though it was for a short time. Mark will be sadly missed but we will always smile when thinking about the good he has done. You and your children will be in our prayers. Nancy, please feel free to call if you need help or just need to talk, I'll be here.

I am very saddened to hear of Mark's passing. Mark helped me for several years and constantly put up with the mean things I'd say when I was caught in active addiction. He never gave up on me, and this went on for several years. When I finally decided I wanted help, Mark and his team were the first ones there to help. Without Mark, the seeds of recovery would have NEVER been planted in my head. I went and got help, but it took a while. Finally, I am almost 2 years clean and learning spiritual principles that have greatly enhanced my life. Without Mark, I would have just been another junkie in and out of trouble. When I needed him he was always there and I credit him for a lot of the success in my life. I have a lot of gratitude for him, and am very saddened for you all by his loss. He was selfless and I do believe his legacy of making humanity a better place will surely live on. My thoughts and prayers are with you and I thank you for all he did for me in my time of need.

Mark Boyd Mark Boyd! I can't believe I'm just finding out that you left us. I love reading the words of your life and how you spent your life and I can see that from the person that I knew I am so sorry that we could not have connected one more time. Believe it or not you are one of my earliest mentors in mental health.Even after all these years thinking about you Mark Boyd. Blessings❤️
