Marion Outlaw Minton

AHOSKIE, NC – Marion Outlaw Minton, age 89, of Ahoskie-Cofield Road, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loving family,

A native of Hertford County, Marion was one of five children born to Bennie Lloyd Outlaw and Lillie Hurdle Outlaw. She was born on May 29, 1930 in Ahoskie, NC. Marion loved her family dearly and cherished the times they spent together. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Marion enjoyed gardening, traveling with her family, and watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren play sports. She was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all that knew her.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Martha “Dinah” Ann Ray, Margie Jean Jones, and Shirley Darlene Outlaw.

Marion is survived by her husband Thomas, three daughters, Sharon Yvonne Terry of Aulander, Pamela Jean (Carl) Brickhouse of Ahoskie, and Melissa Hope (Kevin) Croom of Woodland; son, Michael Thomas (Melinda) Minton of Ahoskie; seven granddaughters, Shelly Denise (John) Harris of Kelford, Kelly Dawn (Jamie) Tate of Aulander, Heather Yvonne (Mike) Green of Aulander, Caesey Jo (Adam) Minton of Aulander, Victoria Brook (Brandon) Rose of Ahoskie, Katelyn Olivia-Frances (Bryan) White of Rich Square, and Rebecca Wynn Croom of Woodland; four grandsons, Steven Craig (Megan) Terry of Ahoskie, Codi Jackson Minton of Creswell, Brandon Chase (Ellen) Minton of Florida, and Dustin Colby Croom of Woodland; five great-granddaughters, Kaidence Riley Tate, Kailey Ann Terry, Briley Noel Terry, Cameron Jade Hewitt, and Marleigh Abigail Hewitt; nine great-grandsons, Parker Boyd Tate, Justin Tyler Green, Austin Michael Green, Haiden Anthony Green, Peyton Rylan Green, Matthew Ian Terry, Liam Julian Hewitt, Declan Wade Rose, and Bradley Weston White; sister, Linda Marie Outlaw of Aulander; brother, Harold Saunders Outlaw of Aulander; aunt, Ruth Hoggard of Lewiston; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Monday, March 9, 2020, from 7:00 pm until 8:30 pm at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, Ahoskie, NC.

A celebration of life funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2020, at 2:00 pm at the Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, Ahoskie, NC, with the Rev. Dr. Jesse Croom, officiating. Burial will follow in Job Cemetery, Aulander, NC.
