Margaret was born on September 6, 1939, the second of two daughters. She graduated from New Hanover High School in Wilmington in 1958 and later attended Peace College in Raleigh. The Pittman family would like to thank Margaret’s many friends and the congregation of Trinity Episcopal Church for their prayers and support over her prolonged illness. Her many friends were integral in motivating her to fight her illness and to enjoy her remaining days.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Trinity Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 372, Scotland Neck, NC 27874 or to the Eastern North Carolina Chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 401 Harrison Oaks Boulevard, Suite 200, Cary, NC 27513.
