AHOSKIE – Louise Wiggins Rawls, age 78, of Pine Ridge Rd., died Monday, June 18, 2012, at Vidant Roanoke Chowan Hospital.
A native of Hertford County, Mrs. Rawls was born on September 24, 1933, a daughter of the late Nettie Matthews Wiggins and Cecil Dewey Wiggins, Sr. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Ahoskie where she taught Sunday school. She was also a member of the Ahoskie Women’s Club, The Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 291, and was a Shrinette. Louise had retired along, with her husband, as his business partner in his surveying business.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Linwood Lee Rawls, Sr. of the home; a daughter, Debbie Rawls Ross and husband, Scott, of Wake Forest, NC; a son, Linwood Lee Rawls, Jr. of Norfolk, VA; a sister, Nannie Byrum of Menola, NC and a brother, Robert M. ‘Bobby’ Wiggins of Hudson, FL. Mrs. Rawls is also survived by two grandsons, Justin and Cameron Ross.
The family will receive friends at the home on Thursday, June 21, from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. A celebration of life memorial service will be conducted on Friday, June 22, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Ahoskie, with the Rev. Billy Presley officiating. Memorial donations may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 Faris Road, Greenville, SC, 29605.

Since I have moved to Minn. I have not had much contact with Louise except on Facebook.. The day she asked for my friendship on FB I was so happy to be back in contact again with her. I know Linwood and family will miss her a great deal as will all who knew her.
I retired in 2009 from the Register of Deeds office in Winton which is where I got to know both of them..
