LASKER, NC – Linwood Rose Smith, age 82, passed away on May 27, 2019 at his residence.

Mr. Smith was born on October 1, 1936 to Reuben H. and Lizzie Collier Smith in Northampton County, NC. Linwood was a member of Creeksville Baptist Church. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Linwood was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed spending time hunting, fishing, and golfing as long as his health permitted. He will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved him.

Besides his parents, Linwood was preceded in death by his brothers; Jack, Roy, and Elton Smith.

Linwood is survived by his loving wife, Virginia of the home, two sons, Mike Smith of Hillsborough, NC, and Brad Smith and wife Lisa of Swansboro, NC; a brother, Carlton Smith and wife Laura of Lakeland, FL;  granddaughter, Faith Smith of Swansboro, NC; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held on Friday, May 31, 2019, at 11:00 am at the Creeksville Baptist Church, Creeksville, NC, with Rev. Andy Sloan, officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at 10:00 am in the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made directly to the Creeksville Baptist Church Youth, 126 Jenkins Mill Road, Conway, NC 27820, or online by clicking here.
