Joyce Johnson Burch, age 69, passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Bristol Regional Medical Center.
Joyce was born in Lebanon, Virginia on February 18, 1948 to the late Jack Johnson and Fannie Kate Warner. She was a loving mother and devoted caregiver. Joyce will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Kristie Burch, and siblings; Pete Johnson, Janice Clark, and Jerry Mullins.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Burch of the home, two daughters; Laura Walters of Williamsburg, Va., and Jill Newman of Virginia Beach, VA, one step-son, Wayne Burch and wife Tifanie of Moyock, NC; grandchildren; Autumn and Jerry Walters, Christopher, Richard, and Nicholas Newman, Ashley and Wendell Burch; her sisters, Jackie O’Connell, Joan Mitchem, Becky Smith, and Nancy Jenkins.
A celebration of life graveside service will be held on Monday, December 18, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the Ahoskie Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service at Garrett~Sykes Funeral Service, Ahoskie, NC, from 12:30 pm until 1:30 pm.
