Joyce “Boots” Alexander Stevenson, age 88, of Scotland Neck, passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at Bryan Health and Rehabilitation in Scotland Neck.

She was born on May 28, 1931 to Woodbury and Lena Alexander and graduated from East Carolina Teachers College.  Boots worked as a bookkeeper for several businesses in Scotland Neck, including Halco, Farmland, and the Town of Scotland Neck.  Boots also worked for the Greenville Daily Reflector and Chick-fil-A. She was a member of the Scotland Neck United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her father, Woodbury N. Alexander; her mother, Lena Alexander; her sisters, Helen Fleming and Emily Pearson; and her brothers, Robert, Irving, Sam, and Ray Alexander.

Boots is survived by her son, George M. Stevenson, III of Greenville; her grandchildren, Geordy Stevenson and Marlyn Stevenson; and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 31, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Trinity Episcopal Cemetery in Scotland Neck, with Rev. Dusty Sprouse officiating.
