Joyce Anne Myers Phelps, age 80, passed away on March 14, 2017 at the Vidant Roanoke Chowan Hospital of Ahoskie, NC.

Mrs. Phelps was born on September 6, 1936 in Windsor, NC, and was the daughter of the late Jesse Bernard and Doris Cowan Myers. She was a homemaker and was a member of Open Arms Church, Ahoskie, NC. Joyce loved her family and animals. She enjoyed spending time at the beach and listening to beach music. Joyce was always there to help anyone in need. She will be deeply missed by all that knew her.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death her husband, Robert Phelps; and her fur babies, Fritz and Princess.

Joyce Anne is survived by, one sister, Jean Myers Lovette of Virginia Beach, VA; three brothers, Jessie “JB” Bernard Myers and his wife Joyce of Ahoskie, Carroll Spencer Myers of Ahoskie, Bobby Hyde Myers and his wife Linda of Murfreesboro, NC; four step-children, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 19, 2017, at 2:00 pm at the Open Arms Church, Ahoskie, NC, with the Rev. Joe Lassiter, officiating. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall following the service.

Always very loving and caring. She always took a moment to check up me and see if I ever needed anything. I will forever miss her.
