Joshua Jordan Alexander, 29, died Sunday, October 23, 2011.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends after the service at the cemetery.
Joshua loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman. He was true to his unconventional ways, even shunning his casting rod for a fly fishing rig. He enjoyed playing Frisbee golf with his friends and could navigate a computer like no one else. Joshua’s IT degree made it possible for him to work in a field he enjoyed. He had a big heart and a strong penchant for right and wrong. Joshua liked to have fun and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
Joshua is survived by his parents, Sonya and Ernie Newell of Rocky Mount; sister, Tabitha Jones and husband Alex of Wilmington; grandmother, Lorraine Alexander and her son, Nick, and his wife, Amy, all of Scotland Neck; nephews, Sam Jones and Clark Jones of Wilmington; cousins, Lindsey Meyers and husband Todd of Washington and Butler Alexander of Greenville; best friends, William Bryan and Terry Harrelson both of Rocky Mount; and his beloved cat, Kitty.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the NC Wildlife Resources Commission, 1702 Mail Service Center, Raleigh, NC 27699.
Arrangements are being handled by Letchworth Funeral Home in Scotland Neck.
