Mrs. Jean Joyner Thomas, age 74 died at the Kindred Hospital in Greensboro on Thursday, October 16th. She was a native of Bertie County. Mrs. Thomas was a member of the Ahoskie Church of Christ. She was a loving wife mother, grandmother, great grandmother. Mrs. Thomas was a wonderful homemaker. Preceding her in death are her mother, Effie B. Joyner, her father, Reubin T. Joyner, two sisters; Clarine Cherry and Marion Cobb, two brothers; James and Aubrey Joyner and one grandchild, Mathew Jones.

Survivors include her husband, John Thomas, two daughters; Patricia Almdale and Judy Lynn Jones all of Ahoskie. Also surviving are three grandchildren and one great grandchild.
