AULANDER – Janie Baggett Brinkley, 80, of the 600 block of NC Hwy 561, West, died Saturday, April 25, 2009, at Roanoke Chowan Hospital.
Mrs. Brinkley was born in Northampton County, a daughter of the late Walter and Nettie Blowe Baggett. She was a member of Union Baptist Church and the W.M.U. and was a homemaker.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Jack Elbert Brinkley; a son, Jackie R. Brinkley and wife, Anne of Ahoskie; her grandchildren, Josh P. Brinkley and his wife, Jessica of Ahoskie, and Sheri Brinkley Futrell and husband, Michael of Winton; and two great grandchildren, Steven Futrell and Michaela Futrell.
A celebration of life service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 27, 2009, at Union Baptist Church, with the Rev. Curtis Pixler officiating. Burial will follow in the Brinkley Family Cemetery, Ahoskie. The family will receive friends at the home. Flowers are welcome or memorial donations may be made to ‘I Love My Church’ account, Union Baptist Church, 431 Boone Farm Road, Ahoskie, NC, 27910.
