JACKSON, NC – Jane Barrow Boone, age 92, passed away on September 1, 2020 at her home.

Mrs. Boone was born in Jackson, NC on April 1, 1928, the daughter of the late Kenneth Barrow, Sr. and Mattie Howell Barrow, and grew up in the Barrow’s Mill community.

Jane was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who always made family her priority in life.  She loved gardening and took immense pride in her yard, especially her rose garden.  She was a longtime faithful member of the Church of the Saviour Episcopal Church in Jackson.  Jane joined the Church of the Saviour as a young bride.  She unselfishly served her church and was one of the first female senior wardens of the Saviour.  Jane was not only committed to her family and church, but to her friends in the community, always taking food or a vase of her beautiful roses to those in need.  Her kindness and generosity will be greatly missed.

Along with her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Rogers Jordan Boone, and her brothers, Kenneth Barrow, Jr., William Barrow and Thomas Barrow.

Left to cherish Jane’s memory is her sister, Barbara Barrow Bridgers of Jackson, NC; her children, Mark Rogers Boone and Verlene Stephenson of Jackson, John Byrum Boone and wife, Dana Boone of Jackson, Jane Boone Hedden and husband, Joe Hedden of Winston Salem, and William Paul Boone and wife, Pat Boone of Jackson.  Also surviving are her grandchildren, Karren Wheeler and husband, Chad, Ashley Usalis and husband, Tony, Joanna Heglar and husband, Nick, Justin Boone, Laura Willis and husband, Carson, Joe Leonard and wife, Lindsay, and Adam Leonard and wife Shay; and great grandchildren, Sarah Kate Ricks, Karson Ricks, Ty Usalis, Boone Usalis, Emma Usalis, Connor Willis and Josie Heglar.

The family’s heartfelt appreciation goes to the caregivers that provided not only the care, but support and love to our mother, allowing her to remain at home, especially Laverne Suggs, Taneka Rainey, Jean Willis, and Kathy Scott.

A celebration of life graveside service will be held on Friday, September 4th at 11:00 am at the Church of the Saviour Episcopal Church Cemetery in Jackson, NC, with the Rev. Richard Galloway officiating.  All are welcome, but due to Covid 19, attendees are asked to practice social distancing.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made directly to the Church of the Saviour, Permanent Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 613, Jackson, NC, 27845; or you may donate online by clicking here.
