COLERAIN, NC- James Vincent Bevilacqua, age 80, of Highway 42, passed away on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at Vidant Roanoke Chowan Hospital.

James was born on November 21, 1940 in Steubenville, OH to Gregory and Carmelia Tufano Bevilacqua. James worked as a Supervisor for Halifax Paperboard before retiring and enjoying life. He loved spending time in his shed building anything and everything. Woodworking was his passion and if you handed him a picture of a bench, chair or table, he could make it. James loved his family and anyone he came in contact with but he especially loved his dog, Princess. James will be missed dearly by all who knew him.

James was preceded in death by his father, Gregory Bevilacqua, his mother, Carmelia Tufano Bevilacqua as well as his siblings.

Left to cherish James’ memory is his loving wife Audrey and his dog, Princess; three daughters, Sherrie Thomas and husband Don of Cary, NC, Suzanne Harlow and husband Charlie of Smithfield, NC, and Andrea Whitcomb and husband Larry of Easley, SC; three sons, Jimmy Bevilacqua and wife Mary of Hammond, WI, Bobbie Lowe of Roanoke Rapids, NC, and Jessie Lowe and wife Marie of Gaston, NC; one great-granddaughter, Nichole of the home; and eight grandchildren.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 13, 2021, 2:00 pm at the Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service – Ahoskie Chapel, Ahoskie, NC, with Rev. Greg Hurdle, officiating.
