Mr. James Burgess Futrell of Jacksonville Florida passed away on January 3, 2009 after a brief illness. Mr. Futrell was born on September 9, 1930 in Northampton County where he spent his youth. He was married to Janice Holloman in 1951 and to the marriage was born three children. He moved his family to Savage, Maryland in 1956. He spent the next 25 years living and working in Maryland and Virginia. Mr. Futrell was later married to Helen Futrell in 1989. He retired to Jacksonville, Florida where he most recently resided.
Preceding him in death are his mother and father, Beulah D. Futrell and Julian Futrell, one brother Wardell Futrell.
Survivors include his wife Helen Futrell of Jacksonville, Florida, one daughter, Libby Croston of Fulton, Maryland, three sons; James E. Futrell of Sterling, Virginia. Vernon Futrell of Mechanicsville, Maryland, Mac Futrell of Covington, Virginia, one sister, Carolyn Jernigan of Lewiston, North Carolina and one brother Carroll Futrell of Conway, North Carolina and the two sons of Helen, Chuck May of Warsaw, Missouri and Eddie May of Warrensburg, Missouri.
Always a fun, laughing uncle who will be missed. Rest in peace.
