Jacqueline Barnhill Earley age 82 of Trap died Thursday, May 5, 2011 at Pitt County Memorial Hospital. She was born October 14, 1928 in Pitt Co. to the late Nathan Claudius Barnhill and Lydia Marcelle Carson and was the wife of the late Donald Jackson Earley.
She graduated from East Carolina University, was a Home Economist thru the Cooperative Extension of Hertford County, taught at Ahoskie High School and then taught at Bertie Academy which later became Lawrence Academy. She worked at Bertie County Nutrition site where she loved to teach games and helped deliver meals to Seniors, she was very active in Mars Hill Baptist Church and in the Church of Christ. She was a loving wife, mother , grandmother and great grandmother.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Sunday, May 8, 2011 at 3:00 PM at Mars Hill Baptist Church. Rev. Bob Johnson will officiate.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, a son James Michael Earley and his wife Barbara of Cofield, daughters Juanita Earley Fleming and her husband George of Concorde and Susan Lynn Earley of Trap, a sister Marcella Jenkins of Robersonville, a brother Dr. Alton Barnhill of Topeka, KS, a daughter in law Nancy Blanton Earley of Knightdale, grandchildren Benjamin Fleming, Sarah Fleming, Katherine Earley, Jacqueline Earley, Jackson Earley and Betsy John Lane, and great grandchildren Avery and Lucy Fleming.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a son Donald Jackson Earley, Jr.
The family will receive friends Saturday at the home 1306 Meadow Rd, Trap and at the church following the service on Sunday.

Mrs.Early was one of the best teachers that Ahoskie High had. She loved her students and cared for them deeply. She always will have a place in my heart. My prayers are with the Early family.
