Frona Sullivan Skeens, age 92, died Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at Kindred Health Care of Ahoskie.

Mrs. Skeens was born in McCarr, KY on August 20, 1920, a daughter of the late Sarah Miller and Floyd Sullivan. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and a homemaker.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Rev. Bobby Skeens and wife, Carole, and Ray E. Skeens and wife, Lea, both of Aulander, NC, and John Skeens and wife, Ann of Ruby, SC; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Besides her parents, Mrs Skeens was predeceased by her husband, Ray E. Skeens; her daughter, Barbara Caudill; and her siblings.

A celebration of life service will be conducted on Saturday, June 1, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service of Ahoskie with the Rev. Greg Hurdle officiating. Burial will follow in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake, VA.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. on Friday evening, May 31st, and other times at the home of Bobby and Carole Skeens. Memorial donations may be made to Oak Grove Baptist Church, PO Box 247, Aulander, NC, 27805.
