Eyes Fixed To The Skies God's calling for you in his home I want you to know, you didn't leave us alone. The words that you left behind will carry us on, And by no surprise, the tears crept from my eyes Drawn out by the memories my mind supplied. And though I feel like my heart will burst, and these feelings will turn to rust, And though this time is awfully rough, And I know this won't count for much, But part of us is made from your blood And for me, that is more than enough. And when each blue sky greets me, I will be reminded of your eyes, so lovely, And with each breath of spring's fresh air I will be reminded of your curls of blond hair And when the sun beams down to warm my skin I will be reminded of the hugs you wrapped me in And when every winter drops it's gentle snow I will be reminded of your sweet, soft voice and know That in every thing of beauty, I will find another part of you And that will keep my eyes fixed to the skies, smiling at you . -David Ray Conner Jr. 4/1/10
