AHOSKIE, NC – Mrs. Elvie Jean Hudson, age 85, passed away on Thursday, April 22,2021 at the Accordius Health and Rehabilitation at Creekside of Ahoskie, North Carolina.

Mrs. Hudson was born on January 31, 1936 to James Clayborn Harris and Elva Hoggard Harris in Ahoskie, NC. Jean married the love of her life, J T Hudson, and to this marriage was born one daughter, Joyce. Jean worked as a bookkeeper most of her life. She was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Ahoskie, where she cherished her time picking up her WMU group of ladies for outings. She spent many of her last days at the cemetery keeping her grandson’s grave well maintained. Nicholas was the apple of her eye and lost his life while defending our freedom which left Jean heartbroken. Jean loved her family and friends and will be deeply missed by all.

Along with her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband, James Thomas “J T” Hudson, and her grandson, Thomas Nicholas “Nick” Brantley.

Left to cherish Jean’s memory, is her daughter, Joyce Brantley and husband Keith of Greenville; sister-in-law, Marion Faye Hudson and husband Allen of Maryland; brother-in-law, Billy Hudson and wife Barbara of Alabama; granddaughter-in-law, Mary Ruth Sikes and husband Brad of Greenville; two great-grandchildren, Davis and Mary Grace Sikes.
