AHOSKIE, NC-Elva “Lucille” Parker Wiggins, age 80, passed away on August 20, 2016 at the Creekside Care & Rehab of Ahoskie, NC.

Mrs. Wiggins was born on September 5, 1935 in Hertford County, NC. She worked as a cashier for several different retail stores in the area. Lucille enjoyed family fishing trips in her early years. She loved flowers, especially petunias. Lucille was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and sister.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Elva Pope Parker, her father, George Isaac Parker; her grandparents, Nathan and Bessie Pope; two brothers, Clyde and Horace Parker, and her sister, Helen Parker.

Lucille is survived by her loving husband of fifty-nine years, William “Billy” Wiggins, her son, James Isaac Wiggins and his wife Kelly of Ahoskie; her daughter, Joyce Ann Wiggins Pearce and her significant other, Keith Sterling Simons of Powellsville, NC; two grandsons, James Robert Harrell of Ahoskie, and James Brandon Beers of Greenville, NC; two granddaughters, April Marie Byrum and her husband John of Aulander, and Bonnie Holland of Newport News, VA; three great-granddaughters, Isabella Byrum, Samantha Holland, and Candace Holland; two great-grandsons, Ethan Byrum, and Cody Holland; one great great-granddaughter; and a brother, Ernest Parker and his wife Sue of Ahoskie.

The Wiggins family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Creekside Care & Rehab for their years of dedicated care for Mrs. Wiggins.

The family will receive friends at any time at the home of her son James. A celebration of life graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2016, at 2:00 pm at Highland Memorial Gardens, Ahoskie, NC, with Daniel Mullens, officiating.
