I am shocked to find that my wonderful friend has passed. I went to school with Ellen at Louisburg College. We we were very close and she was in my wedding in 1982. I have looked for her for several years an didn’t know how to find her. I was looking for the wrong last name. There has been a lot of year

that have passed and I know things change. Holly we have met I don’t know if you remember me. I know you had a good momma and she will be greatly missed. Mr. Patton I did not know you but I know you had a good wife, and I wish we could have reconnected. Ellen and I had some good times in college. I don’t know if she every mention me. I guess it as been 24 years since the last time I saw Ellen. She and Holly visited me when my son was first born. he is now 25. Again you all have my deepest sympathy and she will be missed.

Our family was very good friends with the Mintons while growing up in Aulander. Our dads farmed together.

Older sisters Cindy and Ellen White spent alot of time with Ellen in all their school years (and talking on the phone!) and had alot of fun together. Ellen was always available to talk and as a very good friend.

Younger sister Kim still lived in town when Holly was born and remembers how happy Ellen was! I know how much she did and would have enjoyed being a grandmother and that this is a hard time for you, Holly. You will continue to feel her presence as you love and care for your children. We send thoughts and prayers.

I remember Ellen for her love for family. She had the genuine interest in how everyone was doing. She loved her cousins! Ellen always had that cheerful smile and attitude. Although the miles kept our families apart, you knew that we were always in Ellen’s heart. She was a beautiful lady. God Bless and we love ya Ellen! Joey

What wonderful memories I hold from knowing Ellen. She was a cheerleader and more than that she was an uplifting friend. Positive attitude during our high school years is how I remember her most. Yes, a member of, as Sheila Bunch stated, the famous class of ’73. What a Super class of talented and uplifting individuals. And Ellen was a big part of that spirit. May God touch the hearts of the Minton and Patton families! We shall be with Ellen on the ultimate campus when we meet on that beautiful shore! God Bless You! Marshall Williford

She was a wonderful lady. I remember when we went to school together and her being in my wedding and also working at the bank in Aulander. And also being in the ladies Auxiliary together we really had some good times. She will always be in my thoughts. I really do miss you Ellen. My thoughts and prayers will always be with your family.

Bill, Holly, and family:

I am so truly sorry for your loss. Ellen was such an amazing person and loved each of you with all her heart. Most of us knew Ellen as a friend, family, or “momma”. And all of us feel incredibly lucky to have had her in our lives. Her smile, her humor, her advice, and her love for all of us made Ellen quite a special lady. Your family are in my thoughts and prayers and please know that Ellen is soaring high with mighty wings, looking over us all.

Ellen was a 1973 classmate of mine at Bertie Senior High School. Smart, talented and kind would be words I would use to describe Ellen. My prayers and thoughts are with the Minton and Patton families as you deal with the loss of your loved one. God Bless each of you.
