AULANDER, NC – Danny Joe Johnson, age 63, passed away on Monday, August 26, 2019 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Danny was born on December 25, 1955 to Calvin T. and Nell Francis Johnson in Hertford County, NC. Danny Joe graduated from Bertie High School. He was a food processor most of his life, from processing chicken at Perdue then later peanuts. Danny Joe loved the outdoors, hunting, playing corn hole, grilling, to fishing, which was his favorite pastime. He was an avid fan of the Carolina Panthers and the Carolina Tarheels. Danny Joe was a simple man that enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a loving, husband, daddy, granddaddy, brother, uncle and friend that will be deeply missed by all that knew him.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother in law, Pete Hall, sister in law, Wanda Johnson, and niece, Renee Johnson Farmer.
Danny is survived by his wife Julie, two sons, Dustin Johnson of Kelford, NC, and Kaleb Johnson of the home; daughter, Jenna Smith, better known as Tootie to Danny Joe, and friend Brian Farmer of Francis Mill, NC; grandson, Landon Parker; three brothers, Steve Johnson and wife Diane of Colerain, NC, Jerry Johnson of Roxobel, NC, and Jimmy Johnson and wife Susan of Farm Life, NC; two nephews, Kevin Johnson and wife Erica of Colerain, NC, and Andy Johnson of Rich Square, NC;great nieces; Brooke Stalls and Sarah Farmer; and special friends, Melissa and Larry Revels.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held on Friday, August 30, 2019, at 11:00 am at the Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, Ahoskie, NC, with Rev. Gary Saffell officiating.
