Cynthia Cannon Pendleton, age 67, of Scotland Neck, passed away on Friday, October 23, 2020 at her home.
Cynthia was born on July 5, 1953 to the late William B. and Juanita Cannon. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, Gran, and friend to many. Cynthia married George E. Pendleton, III on June 6, 1975 and together they raised two children. She was a faithful and active member of the Scotland Neck United Methodist Church until her illness. Cynthia loved singing in the choir at church and cooking for her family and members of the community. She was a hard worker on the family farm and could always be counted on to lend a helping hand. A truly wonderful lady, she will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Cynthia was preceded in death by her brothers, David Cannon and Allen Cannon; her sister-in-law, Johnnena Cannon; and her brothers-in-law, Ronnie Staton and Frankie Black.
She is survived by her devoted husband, George; her son, Eddie Pendleton and wife Mandy of Scotland Neck; her daughter, Elizabeth Pierce and husband Michael of Kinston; six grandchildren, Zachary, Candace, Haden, Jackson, Cooper, and Garrett; her brother, Ricky Cannon and wife Beverly and Anthony Cannon and wife Donna all of Oak City; her sister, Gwendolyn Cannon of Texas; her sisters-in-law, Polly Staton, Peggy Black, and Tommie Lou Pendleton; her brother-in-law, Larry Pendleton; many loved nieces and nephews; and her special caregiver, Maggie Mitchell.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to all the healthcare providers at Vidant Cancer Center and the staff of Liberty HomeCare and Hospice.
A celebration of life graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 26, 2020 at the Baptist Cemetery in Scotland Neck, with Rev. Dusty Sprouse and Rev. Bill Holliday presiding.
