Colleen Shaw Bunting, age 76, passed away on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at her home in Tarboro.
She was born in Oakland, CA on December 14, 1944 to Charles and Eve Shaw. Colleen was married to Kamm Odell Bunting, Sr. for thirty-eight years and to this marriage was born two children. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Scotland Neck. Colleen was a wonderful people person and thoroughly enjoyed working the drive thru at McDonalds. She enjoyed reading, knitting, crocheting, and fishing. Colleen loved her grandchildren dearly and was immensely proud of them.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Binnet Shaw, Sr.; her mother, Eve Shaw; and her brother, Charles Binnet Shaw, Jr.
Colleen is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Bunting Ludlum and her husband Scott of Scotland Neck; her son, Kamm Odell Bunting, II and his wife Corby of Speed; two sisters, Patricia Harding and her husband Jim of Pittsburg, CA and Sandie McClure of Danville, CA; two brothers, Edward Michael Shaw of San Francisco, CA, David William Shaw and his wife Yelena Walnut Creek, CA.; her sister-in-law, Anore Miller Shaw of Walnut Creek, CA; her cousin, Debbie DeMello of Walnut Creek, CA; her grandson, Spencer Bunting and his wife Ryanne of Greenville; and her granddaughters, Shelby Ludlum Smith and her husband Travis of Raleigh, Sydney Ludlum of Raleigh, and Shirley Clare Ludlum of Scotland Neck.
The family would also like to extend a special thanks to Debbie Morris for the care she provided to Colleen for three years.
A graveside memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Baptist Cemetery in Scotland Neck, with Rev. Steven Gay officiating.
