Clifton David Hurst, age 84, died Wednesday, November 20, 2013, at Three Rivers Health and Rehab Center in Windsor, NC.
Mr. Hurst was born in Halifax County on October 27, 1929, a son of the late Otha Melvin and Katie Mae Epps Hurst. He was a member of Harrellsville Baptist Church and was retired as a store manager for a convenience store chain. Clifton had never met a stranger and was loved by all who knew him.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Victoria Hoggard Hurst, his daughter, Robin H. Branham and husband, Wayne of Charlottesville, NC; his son, Michael Hurst and wife, LuAnne of Rocky Point, NC; three sisters, Roseleen Harris and Pauline Matthews, both of Murfreesboro, NC, and Mollie Duvall and husband, Ed of Eustis, FL; a brother, Lee Roy Hurst and wife, Barbara of Chesapeake VA; and his grandsons, Cody Hurst and Marcus Bowen. Besides his parents, Mr. Hurst was predeceased by a sister, Kathleen Felton and a grandson, Brandon Hurst.
