Mrs.Credle and family
I had Mr.& Mrs Credle as my teachers at Ahoskie Graded School in 1965-1966.They were both outstanding in teaching their students. Mr.Credle would always play sports with us and he'd always have a good time doing that.
He will always be remembered as a father figure to some of us. My prayers are with you. This man touched a lot of people's lives.

Mrs. Credle, Jamie, and Caroll:
We have all been shocked and deeply saddened by the loss of Mr. Credle. He has touched everyone in my family over the years, including my seven-year old son who knows only one real Santa... Truly, Mr. Credle was the embodiment of the Christmas spirit. I hope that he realized how profoundly he had impacted the lives of so many generations of Bertie County's children, both as an educator and as Mr. Claus. We all loved him and will miss him. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

It is hard to imagine Christmas without Carroll Credle, who is known by many children in our area as the "real Santa". Carroll devoted his professional life to youth and then gave much of his retirement to bring smiles to more young faces than we could count. When I first heard of his illness, it was so sad to think it came at this time of year, which Carroll loved so much. But as I thought more about the timing, I realized maybe this was part of God's plan. Mr. Credle has given the gift of joy to children for years. Now he has received the best gift of all because God has given Carroll the gift of eternal life. There is an old saying that "Man makes plans and God smiles." Maybe this is one of those times when God is smiling and heaven has a new Santa this year.

I was saddened to learn of Mr. Credle's passing. He was a very kind man who genuinely seemed to love his work. He was always kind and fair in his dealings with me. I pray that the family will be strengthened by their many memories of his larger than life personality. God Bless you all.

Most recently recognized better as Chloe, Finn, Baron, Sawyer, Kate and Winton's Granny, I had the wonderful opportunity tp see some thirty children's eyes light up as they attended my Grandson, Baron Chamblee's birthday party and were visited by Santa Claus. My thoughts and prayers go out to each of you in your great loss. But what better condolence than to always remember he left this world at the beginning of a season which he gave so much joy, and from which so much joy has been given to each of us. We thank God for his life and we pray that God will give each of you the strength to get through this difficult time.
With deepest and sincerest sympathy,

To the Credles,
He was such a great man in so many ways. I will never forget the challenge and friendship he gave me during my high school days. He saw potential in me when I could not.
He touched many lives and my mom still talks about his garden, his yard, his wonderful bridge desserts, and his jolly ole elf smile.
Gods blessings on you in this time and the future.

How ironic that I was just viewing my father's (Donald Newsome)1953 annual last week and found Carroll Credle's picture as a senior! Not only was he very involved with sports but was voted "Nicest Boy" and on the Pow Wow staff. My parents both enjoyed working with him at the Ahoskie Graded School. I enjoyed Mr. Credle in 6th grade science class--especially allowing us to watch John Glenn orbit the earth on TV!! I am very sorry to hear of his passing but I am delighted to know that he shared many a happy moment keeping the Christmas belief in Santa Claus alive!

Dear Mrs. Credle,
I was so sad to read of Mr. Credle's passing. I wish I had seen it in time to attend the funeral. Mr. Credle was my teacher, coach and friend from seventh grade on and probably had the greatest impact on my life of anyone. He recognized that I lacked confidence in so many areas and he was always building me up. I don't think I met anyone before or since who cared as much for his students. There are so many good memories of playing basketball with him at Aulander, having him read a book to a bunch of seventh graders (The Old Man and the Boy), taking a bunch of us guys deep sea fishing and then an all night trek along the outer banks fishing at every pier we came across in the middle of the night. In many ways he was like a second father except he spent more time with me than my real father.
I am looking forward to spending more time with him in Heaven.
May God bless you and your family.

We are so sorry to hear of Mr. Credel's passing. He was one of the nicest men we came to know while we lived in Windsor. We have so may stories that we could tell you. He took Wayne under his wing when he first moved to North Carolina and was teaching at Aulander, until He found an apartment and we married in Oct of 1988. Something you probably already know is that he was a very caring, giving man and one that will be sadly missed. Thank you for sharing him with not only us but a wealth of people that their lives are richer for having known Mr. Credel.
Our sympathies to you
Love
