AHOSKIE, NC – Brenda New Hedgepeth, age 70, of Myers Street, passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at the Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, NC.

Mrs. Hedgepeth was born on July 26, 1950 to Calvin Attwood New and Martha Dixon New in Williamsburg, VA. Brenda loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them. She worked as a certified nursing assistant and was passionate about taking care of others. She loved to crochet and put puzzles together. Brenda was greatly loved and will be missed by her family and friends.

Along with her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by a sister, Rose Fowler.

Brenda is survived by her loving husband, Calvin, two sons, David McMillon of Oregon, and Adam McMillon of Colerain; two sisters, Carolyn Pierce and husband Lonnie of Ahoskie, and Janet Davis of Aulander; a brother, Andy New and wife Rita of Lasker; three granddaughters, Megan, Erica, and Alyssa McMillon; a great-granddaughter, Cheyenne Moore; a brother-in-law, Tommy Fowler and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 21, 2021, at 2:00 pm at the Higher Ground Pentecostal Holiness Church, Ahoskie, NC, with Rev. Ray Faircloth, Sr., officiating.
