Betty Jean McKee Clark age 89, of Scotland Neck, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, on November 2, 2019 at the Vidant Edgecombe Hospital in Tarboro.

She was born in Alabama on February 16, 1930 to Wilburn and Helen McKee. Betty was married to George William Clark on September 29, 1944 and to this marriage was born five children. She worked in the banking industry ultimately retiring from BB&T. Betty was a member of the First Baptist Church of Scotland Neck. Betty and George loved traveling in their motor home. She loved her family and her fur baby, Sammy.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Helen Lucille McKee, her father, Wilburn Thurman “Mac” McKee, her husband, George William Clark, sons, James “Jim” and George “Tony” Clark, her sisters, Vera M. Schrack and Pauline Buford and her brother, John McKee.

Betty is survived by a daughter, Sandra C. Rocha and her husband Theodore “Ted” of Beaufort, SC; two sons, John W. “Bill” Clark and his wife Sue of Scotland Neck and Timothy M. “Tim” Clark and his wife Linda of Scotland Neck; a sister, Helen Louise Hogan of Cullman, AL; a daughter-in-law, Maggie Clark of Pensacola, Fl; ten grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Monday, November 4, 2019 at Letchworth-Sykes Funeral Service from 7:00-8:30 pm.

A Celebration of Life graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at 11:00 am at Sunnyside Cemetery of Scotland Neck with Rev. Dr. Jim Drake and Rev. Paul Spradley officiating.
