He had a true love of music, mainly playing his guitar spending countless hours with his band, The Double Eagle, over the years. Bernie enjoyed riding motorcycles and cherished his family, especially his grandchildren. He was loved by many and will be deeply missed. He was preceded in death by his mother, Martha Cox Young, his father, Leroy Williams, and his wife, Sharon Barnes Edwards Williams.

Bernie is survived by his son, Chris Williams and wife Pam of Albany, IN; step-son, Jeff  Edwards and wife Sherry of Elizabeth City, NC, granddaughter, Evelyn Williams; four grandsons, Oliver Henry Williams, Tyler Edwards, Andrew Edwards, and Jacob Edwards; three sisters, Diane Cooke of Aulander, Janice Babb and husband Dennis of Potecasi, and Diana Cannette and husband James of Winton; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

I knew Bernie for many years as he ,like myself played guitar. We both talked at our last high school reunion and i told him of the one night that i went to Tuscarora Beach and he and his band were performing. Bernie,i told him,you were making that guitar talk.Bernie was a good guy, always friendly and a big music lover and guitarist. My condolences to his family.
