Mrs. Martin was a wonderful neighbor of mine for many years. I first met her and Mr. Martin when my family moved to Ahoskie in 1988. We were new to the area and it was great knowing that we had some very nice people living close to us. They gave me my first job by allowing me to cut their grass. That gave me a lot of confidence at a young age. Each time I got a chance to speak with Mrs. Martin through the years, she always greeted me with a bright smile and wanted to know how me and my family was doing. She was a special person and will be greatly missed.
