GREENSBORO, NC – Agnes Lassiter Lassiter, age 97, of Lasker, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, May 30, 2020 at Camden Place Rehab and Long-Term Care of Greensboro, NC.

Mrs. Lassiter was born on April 28, 1923 to Wiley Nicholas Lassiter and Fannie Britton Lassiter in Northampton County, NC. A member of what has come to be called the “Greatest Generation”, Mrs. Lassiter was dedicated first to the loving care and nurture of her family.  She was a tireless supporter of her life-long church, Lasker Baptist, while promoting the wellbeing of the town of Lasker and its residents.  Countless cakes and pies poured forth from her kitchen any time someone was in need.  A friend to all, Mrs. Lassiter became a faithful caregiver to many elderly residents of the community, enriching their lives while enabling them to live at home for as long as possible.  She was loved by many and will be deeply missed.

Besides her parents, Agnes was preceded in death by her loving husband Millard, brother, Robert Thurman Lassiter, half-brother Ryland Draper and half-sisters Troy Davis, and Bessie Draper.

Agnes is survived by her two sons, Nicholas Eugene Lassiter and wife Ruth of Raleigh, NC, and Millard “Britt” Lassiter and wife Becky of Greensboro, NC; four grandsons, Will Lassiter and wife Kristen of Fuquay Varina, NC, Ian Lassiter of Raleigh, NC, Jason Lassiter of Raleigh, NC, Daniel Lassiter and wife Ashlyn of Landis, NC; and granddaughter, Carlyn Carper and husband Chase of Warrensburg, MO and great grandson Lincoln of Fuquay Varina, NC.

A private family funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2020, at 12:00 noon at Lasker Baptist Church, Lasker, NC, with Rev. Ricky Barnes officiating. Burial will follow at Lasker Cemetery.

A community celebration of life service will be held at a later date for friends and family once restrictions have been lifted from COVID-19. We will update website with date at that time.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lasker Baptist Church, 205 East Church Street, Lasker, NC 27845 or online by clicking here

Mr & Mrs. Lassiter were one of the nicest couples I’ve ever met. Mrs. Lassiter had the smile of an angel and acted as though she was one. She lived a long life and blessed others with her charm and sincerity. RIP Miss Agnes.
